What is Hospice Palliative Care?

Medical professionals, therapists, caregivers and volunteers with specialized training offer physical, psychological, social, spiritual and practical support to people living with a life-threatening illness and to their loved ones. Every attempt is made to provide care in the setting of choice – at home, in hospitals, in residential hospices or in long-term care and retirement homes. Pain management and symptom control is a priority to keep the person as comfortable as possible while s/he makes his/her final journey.
